Lexus IS300 Widebody Kits & Lip Kits: All You Need to Know

Fitting aero parts to your car, whether it’s a lip kit, a body kit, or a full-blown widebody kit, will certainly improve its aesthetics, making it look aggressive.

Essentially, a body kit allows you to personalize your car and make it stand out from the crowd, and by choosing one that aligns with your preferences, you can create a car that’s like an extension of yourself.

Some body kits are even designed with aerodynamics in mind, meaning they can improve airflow around the car, improve down force, and reduce drag, resulting in better high-speed stability.

In this article, we’ll explore body kit and lip kit options for your IS300 and provide you with all the information you need to decide what type of kit is right for you.

The Best IS300 Lip Kits

Ever since it was first released, the Lexus IS—initially sold under the Toyota Altezza moniker in Japan—has been a huge hit with enthusiasts who love to modify their cars.

Lip kits are an excellent alternative when you want to give your car that ground-hugging look, but don’t want to buy a complete set of fiberglass bumpers, which often have questionable quality and fitment, anyway.

Lip kits let you keep your OEM plastic bumper, so you don’t need to worry too much about fitment issues.

There are aftermarket lips available for every generation of the Lexus IS300, but the first two easily have the largest selection.

While the latest generation doesn’t have a huge selection of lip kits, the ones that are available can really transform its looks, especially with supporting mods, such as wheels and suspension.

Find some of the best options below.

JP USA SXE

JP USA lip kit for IS300

Manufacturer: JP USA
Construction: OEM-quality polyurethane
Design: Lip kit, consisting of front lip, side skirts, rear lip
Fitment: 99-00 XE10

JP USA offers a complete lip kit for the 2000-2005 Lexus IS300, but it’s also possible to purchase the various parts separately.

The full kit includes front and rear lips that fit directly onto the OEM bumpers, along with a pair of side skirts.

JP’s lip kit has a certain retro style, like a whiff of early 2000s car mods, but with the right supporting mods, especially wheels, we believe it can look pretty cool.

It should be a fairly straightforward job to fit this kit, as JP has a fairly solid reputation for providing high-quality body kits.

They’re one of the largest and most experienced Japanese aerodynamics companies, and they’ve even helped design and construct aero parts for OEM manufacturers.

All things considered, the JP USA IS300 lip kit provides excellent quality at a fair price.

ChargeSpeed Lip

ChargeSpeed lip kit for Altezza

Manufacturer: ChargeSpeed
Construction: Handmade high-quality FRP, white gel coat finish
Design: Lip kit, consisting of front lip, side skirts, and rear lip
Fitment: 99-00 XE10

The ChargeSpeed IS300 lip kit looks great, especially the front lip, which is also available separately.

The side skirts have a nice and clean design, but the rear lip is more of an acquired taste, as it has that drift-style design that was really popular in the mid-2000s.

It’s also worth noting that this kit was designed specifically for the JDM Altezza rear bumper, so you may have to modify it to fit the US version.

If you’re not feeling the rear lip, our top tip would be to replace it with a carbon fiber rear diffuser, as the rest of the ChargeSpeed kit looks great.

ChargeSpeed is a proper JDM brand, and their parts’ quality and fitment are usually among the best on the market, which has earned them a great reputation worldwide.

They also offer a full bodykit, which we’ll talk about later, but the lip kit is better if you’d like to keep your OEM bumpers’ fitment and strength, and it also comes pre-drilled for easy installation.

Duraflex I-Spec

Duraflex I-Spec IS300 gen 2 lip kit

Manufacturer: Duraflex
Construction: Combination of fiberglass, plastic, and flex resins
Design: 4-piece kit
Fitment: 06-13 XE20

Duraflex does have a bit of a sketchy reputation in the aftermarket scene, but it really depends on how you look at things.

Sure, the quality of their body kits can be a bit questionable, but they are among the cheapest options out there.

If you’re on a budget, and you’re capable of doing some work yourself to make the parts fit, you can use these parts to create a very stylish Lexus.

The Duraflex I-Spec bodykit looks great—it really reminds us of an OEM+ bodykit for a special high-performance version of the car.

TOM’S Racing

TOM’S Racing lip kit

Manufacturer: TOM’S
Construction: Unpainted ABS plastic
Design: Direct fitment, full lip kit
Fitment: 2013+ XE30

TOM’s racing is one of the most legendary JDM brands, and there’s a reason for that.

The 2014-17 Lexus IS lip kit by TOM’S is as close to factory fitment as it’s possible to get.

Consisting of a front lip, a pair of side skirts, and a rear diffuser, the TOM’S kit is stylish and aggressive, but somehow manages to retain that factory OEM+ look.

Of course, quality, fitment, and design like this comes at a price, but once you factor in that you don’t need to pay someone a fistful of dollars just to make it fit, the price actually isn’t too bad.

AimGain Pure VIP Sport

AimGain Pure VIP Sport

Manufacturer: AimGain
Construction: FRP and carbon fiber
Design: Full lip kit, parts also available separately
Fitment: 2013+ XE30

AimGain is another JDM manufacturer that’s known for its high-end parts.

The FRP/carbon fiber lip kit for the third-gen Lexus IS consists of a front splitter, blade-style aero side skirts, and a choice of two rear diffusers.

While it sounds fairly basic, it looks really aggressive if combined with a proper suspension setup and a nice set of rims—ideal for stance cars.

This kit is far from cheap, though, and while the price does come with some bragging rights, there are cheaper ways of getting a very similar, if not identical look.

IS300 Body Kits for All Production Years

If you’re not satisfied with just a lip kit and want to take your Lexus IS to the next level, a body kit that includes new bumpers might be what you need.

While body kits are a bit more involving than just a basic lip kit, they can really transform your ride, and since you don’t need to cut into your car, they’re completely reversible if you change your mind down the line.

Cheap, low-quality body kits usually come with various fit and finish issues, but if you opt for one of the more expensive IS300 body kits, installation can be relatively stress-free.

We’ve included a mix of both cheap and expensive kits here, so you can weigh your options and decide for yourself.

Vertex

Vertex body kit

Manufacturer: Vertex
Construction: Handmade fiberglass
Design: Full body kit, consisting of front bumper, side skirts, and rear lip
Fitment: 99-00 XE10

Vertex is another company that most JDM enthusiasts have already heard of, as they’ve been in business for more than 25 years and their kits are virtually OEM fitment.

They offer two versions of their IS300 body kit, one for turbocharged setups and one for naturally aspirated cars.

The turbo version features a bumper that’s designed to fit over a front-mount intercooler—basically, they’ve trimmed off 30 mm, other than that, it’s identical to the non-turbo version.

The Vertex kit has an OEM+ design, so don’t expect to turn heads wherever you go, but those who know will give you an approving nod as you cruise down the road with this hand-made aero kit.

There’s no questioning the quality or fitment of Vertex body kits, but we should mention that the rear was designed for the Japanese Altezza bumper and may require some fettling in order to fit.

ChargeSpeed Kit

ChargeSpeed body kit for Lexus IS300

Manufacturer: ChargeSpeed
Construction: Handmade high-quality FRP, white gel coat finish
Design: Full body kit, consisting of front and rear bumpers, and side skirts
Fitment: 99-00 XE10

If you liked the ChargeSpeed lip kit further up, but want something that’s even more aggressive, check out the full body kit from the same company.

The kit includes a front bumper, side skirts, and a rear bumper, and there’s no need to worry about fitment or quality, as ChargeSpeed is one of the best brands in the business.

Whereas the Vertex kit is more of an OEM+ design, this ChargeSpeed kit looks truly angry and in-your-face.

The front bumper wouldn’t look out of place on a Lancer Evo, so if you want to give your car a sports sedan overhaul, this kit will surely get the job done.

AimGain Pure VIP Sport Tuning

AimGain Pure VIP Sport Tuning

Manufacturer: AimGain
Construction: FRP
Design: The kit consists of front and rear bumpers, and side skirts
Fitment: 06-13 XE20

This is easily one of the most macho Lexus IS body kits we’ve ever seen. With this kit fitted on the IS coupe, it makes the Lexus IS look just as good, if not better, than the best sports coupes from Germany in the same era.

AimGain only uses high-quality materials and molds when manufacturing their aero components, so you can pretty much expect perfect fitment—and for the price it sells at, we’d be shocked if it didn’t fit.

V-Vision 4-Piece Aero Set

V-Vision 4-Piece Aero Set

Manufacturer: V-Vision
Construction: FRP
Design: The kit includes: front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper, and LED daylights
Fitment: 06-13 XE20

Unfortunately, we can’t really tell you much about the fitment or quality of the V-Vision body kit, or aero set, but we do like how it looks.

Redesigning the second-gen Lexus IS’ front to look like the later model is a fairly popular mod, and this kit basically does it for you, while adding some extra design elements.

The kit consists of the front and rear bumpers, sideskirts, and LED daytime running lights.

It’s not cheap, but if the fitment is somewhat decent, it can be a great way to give that old IS a more modern look.

IS300 Widebody Options

We all know there’s one company that reigns supreme in the world of widebody kits.

Unfortunately, there is no Rocket Bunny IS300 widebody kit for any of the IS generations, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other options out there.

If you want to build the cheapest possible widebody Lexus IS300, we found a Duraflex IS300 widebody kit.

Technically, it would be possible to buy the Duraflex B-Sports bumpers and combine them with their overfenders to create some kind of cheap BN Sport widebody IS300.

However, it probably wouldn’t look good, and it would require a lot of work to even fit properly, so we decided to focus on high-quality widebody kits in this section.

Some things to keep in mind when fitting a widebody kit is that you do need to cut into your car’s body panels, so these modifications aren’t easily reversible.

Stock width wheels probably won’t look good either, as they’ll be tucked too far inside the arches.

You’ll either need wider wheels, wheels with a different offset, or wheel spacers—in extreme cases, you may even need to combine all three.

It’s impossible to say what size wheels look good with a widebody IS300, but we suggest finding a design you like, and use one of the websites that let you calculate the correct width and offset.

This is also something the body kit manufacturers can help you with.

Monster Service

Monster Service widebody kit

Manufacturer: Monster Service
Construction: High quality GRP, primed and ready to paint
Design: 3 different widebody stages
Fitment: 99-00 XE10

There aren’t many widebody kits available for the first-gen Lexus IS/Toyota Altezza these days, but Monster Service from Germany offers three different stages of their excellent kit.

Stage 1 widens the front and rear by 30 mm, Stage 2 adds another 10 mm front and rear, and Stage 3 uses 40 mm wider front fenders and 50 mm wider rears.

It’s made from high-quality GRP, and Monster Service even offers to put together a TÜV-compliant wheel/chassis setup for their EU customers.

The IS300 widebody fenders can be fitted on both the sedan and the station wagon, and who doesn’t want a Lexus IS300 wagon widebody?

Monster Service also has a bunch of other cool stuff to make your Lexus IS300 widebody stand out even more.

Rear window louvers, a ducktail rear spoiler, a slotted hood, and side vents to go with the wider fenders.

Clinched

Clinched widebody Altezza

Manufacturer: Clinched
Construction: 3mm ABS plastic
Design: Kit consists of front and rear fender flares, bumper add-ons, and side skirts. Trunk spoiler and front lip are optional
Fitment: 06-13 XE20

The second-gen Lexus IS looks great even in stock form, but this widebody kit by Clinched elevates it to a whole new level.

The kit’s stunning design is also why it is one of the best-selling Lexus IS widebody kits of all time, and it’s found a home on enthusiasts’ cars around the globe.

The Clinched widebody kit adds +2.3 inches per side up front and +2.9 inches on each side at the back.

It consists of a pair of front fender flares, front bumper add-on elements, rear fender flares, rear bumper add-ons, side skirts, rubber gaskets, and installation hardware.

The front lip and ducktail trunk spoiler are both optional, and the lip won’t fit F-Sport models anyway, but with that exception, the kit does fit all Lexus IS models made between 2005 and 2013.

Fitting it does require cutting the stock fenders and quarter panels, so it really should be installed by professionals.

The kit is made of high-quality 3-millimeter ABS plastic, and thanks to 3D scanning, the fitment is close to perfect and the kit shouldn’t require extensive work to fit the car.

ARK Solus

ARK Solus widebody kit

Manufacturer: ARK
Construction: High-quality fiber glass
Design: Kit consists of front bumper lip, front fenders, side skirts, rear fenders, and rear lip spoiler
Fitment: 2013+ XE30

The ARK Solus widebody kit is one of the most badass Lexus IS kits out there, and it makes the car look like a genuine supercar-slayer—but it would definitely need some engine upgrades in order to live up to the looks.

This high-quality fiberglass widebody kit certainly isn’t cheap, and although it’s sold as direct a bolt-on kit, the manufacturer says “some modifications to the kit may be necessary,” which usually means you’ll spend quite a few hours making it fit.

Professional installation will add to the bill, but it will save you tons of frustration compared to you and a couple of friends attempting to fit it to your car in the driveway.

The ARK Solus widebody kit consists of a fiberglass front bumper lip, front fenders, side skirts, rear fenders, and a rear lip spoiler.

What to Expect

Body kits for this platform are available in all kinds of shapes and sizes, which means you can truly turn your car into a canvas and express yourself. Throw some IS300 wheels on there and you’ll have the complete package.

It’s even possible to mix and match parts from different body kits and manufacturers, allowing you to create a unique combination of components that perfectly suit your preferences.

There’s no arguing with the fact that a well-executed body kit will attract attention and turn heads wherever you go. Unfortunately, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. If a body kit is not done well, you’ll also attract attention, but for all the wrong reasons.

There are certain things you need to keep in mind before ordering a body kit for your Lexus IS, such as the total cost, including professional installation and paint.

Wheels and suspension should also be included in your budget, as you don’t want to drive around in a car with a massive body kit on stock suspension and rims.

Some extreme body kits can affect the car’s drivability, including visibility, ground clearance, and aerodynamics.

Certain modifications may not comply with local regulations, which can potentially lead to legal issues or affect your car’s roadworthiness.

Before deciding to fit a body kit to your car, carefully research your options, consult with experts or professionals, and consider the long-term implications. Make sure your decision aligns with your goals, budget, and priorities.
